Waiting...

So many thoughts these days! I'm over being pregnant, excited to meet Alexander, and nervous about what lies ahead once Alexander does arrive! I know the next 6 months won't be smooth, but how bumpy will the ride be? How much of an emotional roller coaster will it be? Will we be able to handle it? What will we do once we bring him home? With all of these thoughts, all I can do is wait! Wait for the next two weeks to go by before we encounter the new chapter in our lives. On top of it all...I still have school to complete- granted I'm just about complete. But nevertheless, here I am ready for Alexander to be here yet there is still so much to do! I've got to finish school, prepare the house so that family can stay here, and make sure any other paperwork is taken care of (I.e. bills!). I guess this is why you take it "one day at a time." I'm just glad I'm not working right now...I'm not sure how I would be able to handle all of it! One thing that is close to being complete, besides school, is Alexander's room! :-) only a few more things to compete and then I can clean his room and wait for his arrival!

Doctor Appointment at 36 weeks and 3 days PLUS a date!

Another successful doctors appointment! Everything is going well for Alexander and I. The doctors estimate him weighing 5 pounds and 13 oz. I'm thinking with the rate he is growing, he's going to be about 7 pounds when he arrives. Anyone want to pace a wager? :) Alexander is still in a breech position, so my scheduled C-section date is February 12th! A little more than two weeks away...and I still have so much to do! Yikes! There is still a small possibility that he could turn around before the date and if that happens, then I will be induced on the same day, if not earlier. The ball is in his court now...

Doctor appointment at 35 weeks & 3 days plus an update!

Arrived at the doctors appointment today and I didn't have to wait 45 minutes before being seen- yea! The doctor said Alex looks good, weighing at 5 pounds, 8 oz. right on track! His fluids look good, but he is still in a Breech position! At my next appointment, a date for a c-section will be discussed and scheduled for when I'm 39 weeks. My OB gave me a list of non-invasive techniques to try to get him to turn around, so we will see if they work. One of the suggestions is to place head phones at the bottom of your uterus and play soft music. This will make the baby want to follow the music, wanting to listen to it better. Or pay loud obnoxious music at the top of the uterus, which would make baby want to move away from the music. I don't think the loud music will work because if he is anything like his mom and dad, he'll stay there and rock out to the music! :) Now for an update: last weekend I had a fabulous baby shower thrown by six lovely woman in mine and Alex's life. (pictures to come). I've gotten sick and am still fighting the cold and Alex has been moving around quite a bit! I was even able to film it on my phone! If I figure out how to post it, I will. :) Our appointments are now weekly, so expect another post next week, if not sooner!

Doctor Appointment at 34 weeks and 1 day

Had our 34 week check up today. Alexander is looking good, weighing at 4 lbs. 10 oz, right on track! He is still in a breech position, so hopefully he will turn around soon. If he hasn't by my next appointment, then a Caesarean section date will be scheduled to happen when I am at 39 weeks. So let's hope he starts turning himself around! Only 5 more weeks until we get to meet him! We are anxious and excited all at the same time!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! This little man has me tired! I didn't stay awake to midnight, but did wake up before 12:00, got to see the ball drop with Wes and then went to bed. Alexander has been having the hiccups a lot more and has been moving around a lot more; nothing that I don't mind. I've tried to film him kicking me, so that one day I can show him, but the little sinker stops every time . Wes finally got to feel him kicking around. Lately, Alexander would stop moving when Wes put his hand on my belly, but not tonight! Wes even got kicked in the head, when he put his head on my belly! :) Getting super excited to meet him! Next week we have our appointment and I'll get to see the little man on the big screen!
